Katie Cochrane

Katie Cochrane (She/Her) holds her MMus Theatre in Vocal Performance with an Advanced

Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy at New York University Steinhardt, as well as a BMus in Vocal

Performance from Acadia University.

Katie is currently the head of the voice department and co-program director of the musical

theatre programs at Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts and has taught Vocal

Pedagogy and Vocology at the FSPA at Dalhousie University. She is a Board Member for the

Canadian Atlantic Provinces National Association of Teachers of Singing and an Advisor for

their student chapter. She was recently the first recipient of the inaugural Canadian Vocal

Pedagogy award and Jan Frey Boytim Award for Independent Teachers through NATS.

Katie strongly believes in mentoring the next generation of talented young singers, and is a

regular clinician, performer and adjudicator in voice and musical theatre across Canada.

She has performed across the United States and Canada: recent credits include Carrie

Pipperidge in Carousel (MCO), Broadway Brunch at the Carleton, and Lola in Cavalleria

Rusticana (MCO). Past credits include: performances at Carnegie Hall with Essential Voices

USA and the New York Pops and Mother Superior in Sister Act the Musical at The Frederick

Loewe Theatre in NYC. Featured ensemble in On the Town in NYC’s historic Provincetown

Playhouse, Ado Annie in Oklahoma! (Opera NUOVA), Jenny in Company (MTOT), Ms.

Nordstrom in A Little Night Music (HSOF), along with other performances at New World

Stages, Skirball Center for the Performing Arts and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.
