Recording engineer, bassist and singer, Cassie Mann leads singers through the process of creating a demo in the comfort of your own home with minimal equipment for maximum results.
For singers who are ready to get into the studio; Cassie will coach singers how to navigate a professional sound board and communicate effectively with your engineer to get your best sound in the studio, every time.
Singer/songwriter and recording artist Terra Spencer will guide singers in how to take those half-finished songs or bits of ideas and turn them into a finished product that you can perform or record.
Already have songs written, but not sure how to get them out into the world, or heard by the right people? Terra will walk singers through the process of releasing music and making essential connections in the next step of becoming an industry professional.
Alison delivers this interactive performance lecture that takes the listener through the cultural history of the why and how Black Americans created their form of improvisatory singing and how anyone can learn and reproduce it. Through active listening, performing, and communal singing, participants will learn how to riff from an authentic place and create their own riffing sound. This is a celebration; all can participate and experience the joy of riffing.
Alison draws on her decades of performance and teaching experience to coach singers to sing with proper registration and authentic sounds, belt effectively and healthfully, and find freedom in their instrument.
